A new website and blog for fantasy author James Downe

For more than 9 years, I've posted about my journey as a writer on a wordpress blog called Legacy of Rukara. The very first blog posted there was on October 9, 2015.

My first short stories in the Legacy were published on Dec 22, 2014. These were Soldier, Kraken, Bard and Redfall. I am still immensely pleased with these stories, even though I would 100% change them if I wrote them now. Isn't it funny what time does to an creative mind?

That wordpress blog was a way for me and Aesc to share our stories, the history of the setting, and anything new we were working on. We had grand ideas, and over the years things have progressed in a way I didn't really think possible.

We continued to write and share our ideas. We still do. The blog continued, and the Legacy of Rukara continued to grow.

I wrote more short stories. People seemed to enjoy them. So I wrote more. This eventually led to a collection of short stories called Salt & Cinder and then a novel called Sisters of Jade. The writing has not stopped, and now I find myself working on non-Legacy of Rukara works. This has led me to here, with a website more about me and not completely about to one fantasy world.

So, that's what this site will be. A new website and blog for fantasy author James Downe, where I can showcase all my works and talk about my wider adventures as a writer. So take a look, browse through my works, and thanks for reading.
