About James

James is a writer and designer in Toronto, Ontario. Raised on Lego, Nintendo, fantasy books, and tabletop role-playing games, he has been creating worlds for as long as he can remember. He is the author of Salt & Cinder and the Sisters of Jade Trilogy (Sisters of Jade, Sorrow & Shroud, and The Gorgon Court).

His short stories work have been published in ResAliens Issue 8 & 9, Lone Wolf Anthology: A collection of outcasts and outsiders, Swords for Hire: A Frontier Fantasy and Medieval Western Story Anthology, and two experimental one-shot anthologies of speculative fiction, Legacy and Invitation.

He is the co-creator of the Legacy of Rukara, which he developed with his good friend Aesc Adams. Rukara was born out of many tabletop gaming sessions, with the setting and stories coming from those early games.

He is an active member of the Toronto Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers' group, where he moderates the occasional panel. He has also been a panelist and moderator at events such as Can*Con in Ottawa, ON.
