PRINTED PINT GLASSES & CUSTOM BOXES

This was another big project I got to do through Katalyst Licensing. These Star Wars pint glasses were part of a large order, printed in-house using digital UV printers.

The glasses were simple. R2, Chewie, C3PO, and BB8 on one side and the Star Wars logo on the back. Seems simple, but due to the size and shape, each needed a slight distortion of the art to account for the curve of the glass.

The custom boxes were a little more complex. They needed to safely hold the four pint glasses, but were restricted by the size of paper we could print on. My design needed to have all the proper logos and legal lines. Once printed, they were die cut, mounted, glued and assembled. The glasses need a little bit of time before they are packed and shipped.

While these glasses are a staple of the business and always in some sort of production status, this specific run was a big order of 800 or so 4-Packs.

 

Getting to set up the files and then run the printer myself was great. I've always loved the hands-on part of design, so running the digital UV printers steadily for a few weeks was right up my alley.
